Elementary Curriculum Digitizers is developing materials to give learners easy access to the basic building blocks of literacy.

Easy access means excellent, effective features, downloads for most digital devices, and live virtual support to become confident navigators.

As they develop basic reading and writing skills, learners have frequent questions about specific sounds and letters. To learn optimally, these questions need to be answered quickly and directly. Sometimes an adult is not available to help. Digital tools can provide instant audio, graphic, and video answers, and opportunities to practice skills, as many times as needed.

Click Me Printing demonstrates sounds (phonemes), the letters (graphemes) used to represent the sounds, and how to print them.

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers’ apps are available widely on Android tablets, phones, and computers, as well as Apple iPads, iPhones, and Mac computers.

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers supports families to learn Click Me Printing and other apps. Three times weekly we host live virtual meetings for new users. In 30 minutes, adults and their young learners become confident and competent navigating the content and features of Click Me Printing.

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers provides learners with on-demand access to the answers they need.

On-demand access means that all content is available all of the time.

Content is organized so that even pre-readers can independently navigate to the sounds and letters they want.

The design of Click Me Printing is similar to a talking picture dictionary. Learners simply choose the sound or letter they need from the organized list. Additionally, the speech recognition function supports pre-readers by scrolling to the first letter of the word they say.

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers’ resources support children to accomplish their chosen tasks.

Authentic accomplishments are wonderful motivators. Learning flows smoothly when learners have the necessary tools.

When children want to spend time learning sounds, letters, and how to print them, Click Me Printing’s interactive multimedia provides effective lessons and practice. When children need a quick reference tool for a sound or letter in a story, they have their answer in just a few clicks. They do not have to interrupt their workflow to wait for time with a teacher or adult.

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers’ resources may facilitate teachers to have more time guiding learners to learn more complex skills.

The hope of having more time with individuals or small groups to develop complex skills like "How do you recognize the end of a word, or a sentence?" is precisely what motivated Founder Eileen White to begin Elementary Curriculum Digitizers.

Schools provide space and time for the sacred business of learning. In a typical Grade 1 classroom in Ontario, 20 students work with 1 teacher. Eileen realized that frequently children were interrupting their reading or writing work to ask her a question that could be easily demonstrated in a digital app. Many skills need teacher attention and guided practice, and having uninterrupted time for these skills is greatly appreciated.
