Our Story

Elementary Curriculum Digitizers began developing materials in the fall of 2018, based on frequently asked questions of children who are learning the basics of reading and writing.

For example, the students in our Founder’s Grade K-2 classrooms often asked about the specific sounds and letters that they wanted to write in their stories, or that they saw in the books they were trying to read.  When the children tried to find specific sounds or letters in other learn-to-read apps, they were frustrated because there was no way to navigate beyond the small amount of content locked into the current game.

Our materials differ from the thousands of other learn-to-read resources.

Instead of aiming to achieve levels within an app, we support children to accomplish a real-life task they have chosen to read or write.  We support learners’ learning journeys with easy navigation to specific answers.  All content is available all of the time.

Our first app, Click Me Printing, provides access to all of the basic building blocks of English.  Navigation is easy because all 45 sounds (phonemes) and their letters (graphemes) are in an organized list.  Learners click multimedia tools to gain knowledge and practice sounds and letters and how to print them.  There are minimal distractions (i.e., no games, points, or advertisements).

Children choose content and activities according to their purposes.

When children want to spend time learning sounds, letters, and how to print them, Click Me Printing’s interactive multimedia provides effective lessons and practice.  When children need a quick reference tool for a sound or letter in a story, just a few clicks in Click Me Printing give answers via audio, graphics, or video.
